Message from the Headteacher

21 October 2019

Dear Parents/Carers

We are very proud of our extra-curricular programme here at Campion. One of our values is to ensure a breadth of knowledge and opportunity for all pupils. Our super learning day yesterday was a wonderful example of just some of the opportunities we provide for our pupils. Year 7 pupils watched a powerful production from Loudmouth on antibullying and then took part in workshops around this topic. Staff and visitors were extremely impressed with the insight and wisdom from our new year 7 cohort. Year 8 had a spiritual retreat day and ended the day with Mass at the Abbey church. Again, pupils were reverent and respectful. Whilst some Y9 pupils worked on their Duke of Edinburgh award the rest of year 9 and all of year 10 spent the day focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) or finance activities, learning valuable skills for the future. Year 11 were either on their Geography field trip or enjoyed a fantastic day out at Blackwell outdoor adventure (despite having to wait a long time for the coach to arrive! We will be speaking to the coach company about this!) Finally post 16 spent the day learning more about healthy relationships again with the Loudmouth production company.

Yesterday was just another example of some of the things we do to educate our pupils beyond the classroom and I am always proud to see how our children always rise to the occasion.

Thank you to you as parents for supporting us. One or two uniform issues have crept in this week so please do see the website for our uniform policy as well as the home school agreement you will have signed. Girls in particular, please note our policy around hair colour. If in doubt see your Head of Year.

Kind Regards

Mr A. Grant
