Catholic Social Teaching
Catholic social teaching (CST) is rooted in Scripture, formed by the wisdom of Church leaders, and influenced by grassroots movements. It is our moral compass, guiding us on how to live out our faith in the world. There are seven key principles:
-Dignity (treat every living thing with loving respect)
-Solidarity (stand side-by-side with all people)
-Common good (collaborate and share with all)
-Option for the poor (love for the poorest and most vulnerable)
-Peace (an end to rivalry and conflict)
-Creation (consider how our actions impact the environment)
-Dignity of work (people are more important than profit)
Each year our school community works hard to raise funds for various charitable causes - from small independent local charities such as food-banks, to large international organisations. Non-uniform days, cake sales, bag-packing and sponsored sporting activities are just a few of the creative methods students use to raise money.

By setting up school feeding programmes in partnership with some of the world's poorest communities, Mary’s Meals helps to encourage children into the classroom – and gives them the energy to concentrate on lessons – so they can gain an education that can help them work towards a brighter future. |
