UCAS

We are proud that every year a significant number of our Year 13 students go on to Further Education. In 2021, more than 80% of our Year 13 students went on to join a range of colleges and universities across the country to study an array of courses. This year we have had students go to study:  Nursing, Computer Science, Accounting and Finance, Illustation, History & Politics, Pharmacy, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Science, Law, Quantity Surveying, Sport & Exercise Therapy, Veterinary Nursing amongst many others.

Our Director of Post-16, Mrs Griffiths, is responsible for the UCAS application process

We are proud that we know each of our students well and have the facilities to address their individual needs. All students, regardless of their choice of course, college or university are offered support from their Personal Tutors, Learning Leader and our independent Careers Advisor.

Some of the ways we support our students through the UCAS application process are:

  • Insight evenings for students and parents

  • Having superb Personal Tutors to support our students

  • Individual appointments with our Careers Advisor

  • Focussed Progression Time sessions on building key study and wider skills to support university applications

  • A range of  visiting speakers from different institutions throughout your two year journey

  • Information and Guidance about Open Days and Taster Courses

  • Personal Statement support from university admissions tutors

  • Structured Personal Statement support through Progression Time and advice surgeries

  • Attendance at the UCAS Convention in the Summer of Year 12

  • We also work closely with Causeway Education

  • Assemblies

  • Bespoke support from the Sixth Form Team.
