Police Visit 26/11/19

02 December 2019

Erdington Neighbourhood Police Team came in to school on Tuesday to complete a knife arch operation with some of our pupils. This is normally completed 3 to 4 times a year and we choose different year groups each time at random. Staff and pupils are not informed when this will take place either. The message we want to say is that we want pupils to feel that they can be taught in a safe school and teachers can teach in a safe school. Pupils bags were searched, by teaching staff only, and then walked past the knife arch. All pupils were very supportive and their interaction with the Police was exemplary as usual. Further operations will take place throughout the year.

The Neighbourhood Team then went on to tweet about the operation on West Midlands Police twitter page.

As parents/carers we appreciate all your support with regards to this and if you have any questions or concerns at all please feel free to contact me at school.
