Message from the Headteacher
As we come to the end of another wonderful term here at St Edmund Campion, I would like to extend my gratitude to you all for your ongoing support for our school community. We are very fortunate here at Campion to have such a wonderful student body with equally wonderful parents.
On Tuesday we held our Carol service at the Abbey church; the first time we had been able to hold it there since before Covid. It was such a joyous and moving occasion and my heartfelt thanks to all the children who either performed in the band or sang in the choir. Mr Bishop our Head of Music did a wonderful job of bringing it all together and my thanks go to him also.
Our Advent liturgical services this week, led by Mr Sorroll and the chaplaincy team, have been equally moving and have encouraged us all to remember the true meaning and gift of Christmas and to remember what true happiness means. Thank you also to the chaplaincy team and Mr Sorroll for these assemblies and also for the many other contributions to our Catholic Life in school. In fact, on Tuesday Mr Sorroll took the chaplaincy team to St Anthony’s residential home where they sang carols for the residents there.
We have also spent much of this week sending out some Christmas hampers to families in our community. It has been a wonderful effort by staff who put these hampers together and thank you also to Mr Roche and Mr Evans who distributed them.
We return to school as normal on Tuesday 3rd January for all students. Vice Principal Mr Harrison has sent a letter out via ParentMail as a reminder of certain things such as uniform etc so please do read this over the break.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas time with your families and please do keep safe over the break.
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” – Matthew 1:23
