Back to NewsYear 11 Careers Interviews
As part of our year 11 careers provision, your child is entitled to a careers interview with a careers advisor. Due to COVID-19, the usual procedure of a face to face interview will be amended to a 30 minute telephone interview. I have provided a plan below on how this will be delivered:
- A Parentmail message and email direct to your child’s school email address, informing your child of the time allocated for their careers interview. (This will be a 30 minute timeslot)
- Miss Fisher will email the class teacher of the lesson your child should be attending at this time. (This will stop a call being made to inform you that your child did not attend the timetabled lesson)
- At the beginning of the scheduled timeslot, the careers advisor will call the home telephone number or parent’s mobile to undertake the interview
- An action plan of your child’s interview will be created and sent to Miss Fisher for review and to allocate the support required
- If you require any further information or support, email: fisherl@stedcamp.bham.sch.uk
To ensure students do not miss out on the latest careers opportunities that are available, opportunities for the students will be shown period 1 on a Monday morning through the morning PowerPoint.
Organisations are also providing students with the opportunity to undertake work experience virtually. Within the careers section of our school website, I have placed a link called “virtual work experience opportunities” within a red textbox. Please click this red box to download the word document listing the opportunities available.
