Message from the Principal

10 February 2023

Dear Parents/Carers

Thank you to all the parents who came to either the review day on Wednesday or the 6th form parents evening on Thursday. I hope you all found them useful and were able to have some very productive conversations to support your child in being able to achieve their very best.

Next week promises to be a very special one with our much-anticipated production of Matilda taking place on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We are also putting on a full-dress rehearsal for a number of children from our local primary schools. Tickets are still available although they are going fast! The show starts at 7.00pm and ends at 8.30pm and we are very much looking forward to welcoming as many as possible. It is the first time we have been able to have a show like this since before Covid.

We also welcome Paulette Hamilton MP for Erdington to school on Friday as she talks with a number of students about what it means to be an MP.

We very much have the people of Turkey and Syria in our thoughts and prayers and on Wednesday we held a short prayer service to ask God for his help for the Turkish and Syrian people affected.

Dear Lord

We pray for the people of Central Turkey and North West Syria, whose lives have been devastated by the earthquake.

Be present, O Lord, our Good Shepherd, to bring comfort, relief, shelter and human kindness. Shield the people who suffer, console those who are bereaved, prosper the provision of relief, strengthen the work of emergency teams, and shine your light and hope in the midst of despair.

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.

May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen.

Kind Regards

Mr A. Grant
