Message from the Headteacher

17 December 2021

Dear Parents/Carers

Wishing you all a very happy and Holy Christmas as we come to the end of another very busy term. This week has very much seen the Christmas spirit in action with lots of donations of food, tins, clothes and toiletries to St Chad’s Sanctuary. We have also spent much of this week sending out some Christmas hampers to families in our community. It has been a wonderful effort by staff and pupils alike. The fabulous school choir have also recorded several carols (after we unfortunately had to cancel our carol concert) and you can view them on our website.

The new term starts on 5th January for all pupils (although please note that we will be conducting the lateral flow testing on 4th January). There are a couple of parents’ evenings next term for year 11 and year 9. The first is year 11 on 13th January and we have decided that this will be conducted virtually given the Covid circumstances. Hopefully by the time the year 9 one comes around on 3rd February we will be in a better situation. The year 9 one will also be an opportunity to discuss option choices for GCSEs and BTECs so please do keep this in your diary.

I sent out a letter a few days ago with some updates around the Covid situation. I have also included it here in the newsletter for your information.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas time and are able to meet up with your families and keep safe over the break.

“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” – Matthew 1:23

Kind Regards

Mr A. Grant
