Message from the Headteacher

10 December 2021

Dear Parents/Carers

As we approach the end of term I would like to thank you for your ongoing support for the school. Covid is proving tricky to manage as we enter the final week with it affecting staff absences and unfortunately, we have had to cancel a few events. We did still go ahead with our Campion day celebrations with Mass being held virtually. Thank you to Father Joe for saying Mass. The day was very special and the pupils learnt a lot about St Edmund Campion and the Jesuit virtues.

It has been a very positive term and we have accomplished a lot as a school during this time. The pupils have been excellent and have shown a lot of pride in school; doing the right thing each day.

Please remember that we will be finishing term early on Friday 17th December. Children will be dismissed from 12.30 onwards and we would ask pupils to make their way straight home after dismissal.

Please do remind your children that they must wear their face coverings on public transport. Over the Christmas break it would be good to make sure that your children have all the equipment and uniform they need for the next term. You can buy ties, badges and fully stocked pencil cases from school all for £5 each. I would also recommend that you get a plain black V neck jumper especially as it will get colder in January. Please also ensure that your child has their own face covering to wear in school.

Please note, there is a change to the return to school dates in January due to the Covid testing. On 4th January pupils will only need to come in for their allotted time to take their lateral flow test. The first full day will be Wednesday 5th January. In the mean-time, please keep doing the lateral flow tests twice a week during the holidays and record the results on the NHS website.

I will leave you with this prayer for Advent:

Christ, come into our world of darkness

Light up our lives with your coming.

Fulfil all our longings with the joy of your birth

Strengthen our resolve to work for change in our world

And to share the hope of your birth that each Advent brings.

Amen.

Kind Regards

Mr A. Grant
