Message from the Headteacher
What a week it has been at Campion! Firstly, our year 9 pupils won their Envision competition where they had to present their project for raising money for Beyond the Horizon, a Birmingham-based charity supporting young people affected by loss. They had to beat some very good competition and we are all very proud of their achievements.
Our Y12 Government and Politics group spent a day in Westminster on Wednesday. They had a great day and also got to observe the court system in action. The students also managed to get a glimpse of the Prime Minister leaving Parliament (probably getting himself ready for the release of the Sue Gray report!)
Also, on Wednesday we held a May procession with year 7 in honour of Our Lady during the month of May. Year 7 were extremely reverent and respectful despite the blustery conditions and thank you to Mr Sorroll for organising and leading the event. And on Thursday we held an online Mass with Father Joe to celebrate the feast day of our Lord’s Ascension to heaven.
A special mention once more to our year 11 students who have been excellent during their second week of exams. They have tackled them with real endeavour and we are very proud of them all. Well done also to our year 13 A level students who started their exams this week. They have gone very well with the students fully committed and focussed.
I hope you all have a very enjoyable half term break and hope you all enjoy the Jubilee bank holiday. I will leave you with a prayer for the Queen’s jubilee.
O Lord, the Way, the Truth, and the Life,
we give you thanks for your servant Elizabeth our Queen.
May she ever be provided with all she may need
for her ministry among us,
strengthened to meet every demand
which her office may make,
and in all things nourished by your word and example,
who with the Father and the Holy Spirit live and reign,
world without end.
Mr A. Grant
