The Board of Directors of the St John Paul II MAC, together with the local governing body of St Edmund Campion Catholic School and the Archdiocese of Birmingham are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspirational and ambitious Vice Principal to join our committed, effective and friendly senior leadership team. The post is for September 2022 and the role will oversee the personal development and behaviour and attitudes of pupils within the school. The successful candidate will line manage the pastoral and safeguarding aspects of school life including pupil attendance. Our dedicated staff are committed to the provision of an excellent academic education for every pupil in our care and the successful candidate will play an integral role in delivering this.

St Edmund Campion Catholic School is a successful 11-19 secondary school located in the north of Birmingham largely serving the Erdington community. Applications are welcome from existing senior leaders and the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate:

  • being a practising Catholic who will uphold and role model the Catholic values of the school
  • exceptional knowledge of matters around pastoral care, behaviour, attendance and safeguarding
  • the capability to shape the vision and direction for the school, setting high expectations with a clear focus on student achievement and their pastoral care

  • the ability to analyse data effectively, identify areas of improvement and implement strategies to address them
  • the ability to contribute significantly to continuous school improvement in the context of the School’s Ethos and Mission Statement

The position would suit an experienced practitioner, to join our well-resourced RE Team as Head of RE. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate:

St Edmund Campion Catholic School is looking to appoint a Pastoral Assistant from September 2022. This role will provide a specialist service, with its main focus on the Post-16 students in the school, within the wider pastoral and administration team, to support the school in delivering on its Behaviour for Learning policy to ensure that all pupils are able to be academically successful and are well supported in this.

 

St Edmund Campion Catholic School is a large 11-19 secondary school located in the north of Birmingham predominantly but not exclusively serving the Erdington community.

 

We are looking to appoint a welcoming, professional and experienced person to fulfil this important role. The position is to start in September 2022.

 

Whilst experience working in a school environment is desirable, it is not essential. Governors wish to appoint someone who:

  • has a positive outlook and a good work ethic
  • will contribute to the school ethos, values and mission statement
  • will communicate effectively with parents, pupils, visitors and staff
  • has high expectations for all pupils and is able to relate well to pupils in a calm and authoritative manner
  • remains calm and positive under pressure
  • can work with minimum supervision and as part of a team
  • will use initiative to support the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, Director of Post-16 and school staff
  • has good levels of literacy and ICT skills
  • has experience of supervising Post 16 students and maintaining a positive and professional learning environment.
