DofE Grant Award

05 February 2021

St. Edmund Campion School is delighted to announce that we have received a grant from The Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) Diamond fund for our school project to ‘increase participation and expand opportunities for our pupils in year 9 - 13’, enabling us to reach and support more young people who want to do their DofE at St. Edmund Campion School. Thanks to this fantastic offering, we will be able to purchase new expedition equipment as well as training staff to support the running of bronze and silver expeditions. This will allow more of our pupils to undertake the ‘Award’ and will help provide them with the opportunity which may not otherwise have been open to them, such as developing ‘soft’ skills and attributes for life and the workplace.  We would like to thank the #iwill Fund – including The National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, who have contributed money towards the Diamond fund, as well as the DofE, for awarding this grant to us and we look forward to seeing all our children back in school after the current lockdown so that we can start offering the DofE Award to our year 9 students as well as continuing to support our pupils in year 10 and 11 who are currently completing sections of their Bronze and Silver Awards.

More details about our grant, how our year 10 and 11 pupils are getting on with their DofE at home and how our year 9 pupils can start their Award will be posted in future newsletters and on our website.
