    On Wednesday 1st November, 10 year 10 pupils took part in a biomedical engineering workshop at Birmingham University. Upon arrival, the were greeted by two Doctor of Mechanical Engineering who gave a brief presentation about the engineering department at the University of Birmingham; including details of the undergraduate courses available in addition to information about engineering in the wider world including applications and possible careers after study.     Sixth Form Mock Interview Day

    The Sixth Form Mock Interview Day was a real success with over 20 external facilitators interviewing Year 12/13 students from companies such as LEMA the engineering and manufacturing academy, Asda, the local police station, HM Government Work and Pensions office and many more. This was a wonderful opportunity to develop their employability skills in preparation for the real thing and our students showed true professionalism and were a real credit to the school. Read More

    My journey with Ernst & Young (EY) began in January of this year, when Mrs Quoroll forwarded an email to Sixth Form about the 3 weeks paid work experience, known as “Smart Futures”, that they were offering in the Summer. After applying, I went through a gruelling interview process with a telephone interview, a skype interview and a lengthy background check. I then finally got the place on the programme! Read More

    On Wednesday 18th October six Year 10 students travelled to Erdington Academy to compete in the Birmingham School Games B Team 5-a-side Football Tournament. Campion got off to a great start winning 2-1 against Erdington Academy with Tyrone grabbing the winner with the last kick of the game. Next up was Stockland Green, Campion dominated the game but wasted a host of chances eventually grabbing the winner to secure a 1-0 win. Read More

    Students Learn To Make Pizza

    On Thursday Mrs Trueman and Mrs Brady took a group of year 7 students to Pizza Express in Sutton Coldfield to learn the process and ingredients of making pizza. The students were able to have a go at tossing the dough before making their own pizza to take away. Pizza Express staff were extremely friendly, organised and helpful. Our students were an absolute credit to St Edmund Campion School and would like to thank Mrs Tubb for organising the trip which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Read More

    A group of pupils made the trip to Bodymoor Heath to receive some high quality coaching. They were put through their paces buy some of Villa rising stars and it is safe to say they enjoyed it.     Year 13 Geography Fieldwork in Wales

    Last weekend the Year 13 Geographers travelled to Betws-y-Coed in Wales to carry out fieldwork and data collection in preparation for their non-examined assessment as part of their A-Level Geography course. The Human Geographers carried out questionnaires, land use surveys and bi-polar analysis in Betws-y-Coed! The Physical Geographers carried out beach profile measurements, sediment samples and environmental analysis on Criccieth beach! Many useful data collected even if we did get very soaked in the process! Read More
