All staff and students are entitled to use the Microsoft Office 365 suite on personal computers and tablets for free.

You can download and install Office on up to 5 devices, whether that be PC, Mac, tablet or phone. Your licence will last for as long as you are at the school.

It is the full version of Office, just that you don't get it on a disc, you log in to a Microsoft website using your school email address and password. You will get a prompt every now and then asking you to sign-in again, just to check that you are still here, so still eligible to use the software.

The version you get from Microsoft will be the latest version of Office.

How do I install Office 365 ProPlus?

  1. Visit portal.office.com
  2. Log in using your school credentials - enter your username in the format username@stedcamp.bham.sch.uk then enter your password when you're redirected.
  3. Click Advanced to choose whether to install 32-bit or 64-bit version (We recommend the 64-bit version)
  4. Click Install

Do I get anything else besides Office with this benefit?

In addition to having access Office which has applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote for PCs and Macs, you can activate the clients on your iPad, iPhone, and Android Phone, giving you access to edit and review your work on the go.

You also get 1 TB of storage through OneDrive to ensure you access to all of your documents whenever you need them. If you using a computer that doesn’t have Office installed, don’t worry you can edit or review your work in Office Online, in any browser.

What happens when I leave school?

Before leaving, you must ensure to move any documents and emails you wish to keep from your account to a suitable storage medium as it will become inactive.

There is a 30 day grace period where items can be retained by contacting ICT Services on helpdesk@stedcamp.bham.sch.uk to have your account re-enabled for a short time. After 30 days of leaving the school, documents on OneDrive and emails within Outlook will no longer be accessible and will be deleted by Microsoft.
