Progression Time

Progression_TimeSixth Form students all have a dedicated Personal Tutor who they spend quality time with every day.  This time is dedicated to extending the skills our students possess and tailoring these to Level 3 study as well as looking forward to becoming well-rounded citizens, able for life after Sixth Form.

In their Progression Time students are supported in their transition into A Level study and are encouraged to develop the skills and attributes that will make them both valuable and valued members of society when they leave us.

Focuses include:

  • Independent Learning Passports  to encourage individual development
  • Developing study skills, including getting to know their Level 3 courses well
  • Supporting students in meeting expectations for attendance and punctuality
  • Personal organisation for success in study
  • Involvement in the Sixth Form Reading Challenge
  • Embedding the principles of the Successful Six
  • The Sixth Form Beneficium Award
  • Embedding principles of the ‘No Excuses’ Campaign
  • Becoming responsible digital learners, accountable for their digital footprint
  • Developing wider key skills to support UCAS applications and students’ development as valuable members of our school and the wider community
  • Personal development audits where students identify their own key development focuses
  • Applications to University and the entire UCAS process
  • Integration into the House system of the school and leadership of the younger students in our community
  • Support with involvement in the Catholic Life of our school community and beyond including involvement in prayer, masses and charity fundraising
