This year marks the 50th anniversary of our school, St. Edmund Campion Catholic School! We will therefore be celebrating with many wonderful events throughout the year! One of the first will be our new Christmas production, 'A New King Will Arise!'. Please read on to find out more...

On Monday, 15^th and Tuesday, 16^th December, pupils from St Edmund Campion Catholic School will fill the churches of Erdington Abbey and Ss. Mary and John's with their incredible voices, for a beautiful retelling of the very first Christmas. 

"The time is coming and is near,

When our Lord God and Saviour will appear.

Make straight paths and clear the way!

He will soon be with us:

This might be that day!"

'A New King Will Arise' is a brand new play that includes drama, poetry and many classic, beloved Christmas carols. Together, our pupils will share the greatest origin story ever known, leading you on an epic journey, all the way from the prophecies of Isaiah to John the Baptist's preaching in the wilderness. You think you've seen it all before? Think again!

"A king yes, but not with a throne.

Trust me when I say: You need to unlearn all you have known."
