Message from the Headteacher

08 November 2019

Dear Parents/Carers

A warm welcome back to all staff and pupils after our half term break. I hope you have all had an enjoyable break and managed to spend some quality time with your families. Thank you to parents for ensuring your children have come back to school fully equipped, looking smart and professional and taking their learning seriously.

We have a very busy half term ahead especially with the lead up to Advent with some wonderful things planned. Please do keep reading this newsletter to keep up to date with what is going on and if you haven't done so already make sure you've downloaded the ParentMail app so that you are kept fully informed about Campion life!

Year 11 have had their mock exams this week in preparation for their GCSE examinations next summer. They continue into next week and we will have the results for you in due course. Parents evening for year 11 is on December 11th (This is a change to the published calendar due to the forthcoming general election.) Pupils have conducted themselves very well during these exams and have taken them seriously. I hope it spurs many of them on to really start their preparations sooner rather than later. Remember all the revision guides you have.

On that note the Y9 and 10 homework strategy was launched this week with pupils. We are expecting high quality retrieval practice every week from every pupil and we will be checking the standard of these for all pupils.

This Sunday is Remembrance Sunday with Armistice day being on Monday. We remember all those who have fought and died in wars around the globe and the sacrifices they made to ensure our prosperity and freedom. Whilst it is a time of solemnity it should also be an opportunity for us to thank God for all that we hold dear. It is also an opportunity to think of our many former pupils who are currently serving in our Armed Services. Next Monday we will be holding a Remembrance service for the whole school.

Kind Regards

Mr A Grant
