Message from the Headteacher

15 October 2021

Dear Parents/Carers

With World Mental Health Day last week, Black History Month, Macmillan coffee mornings, the feast of St John Paul II; October, the month of the rosary, is certainly a busy and interesting month!

Next Tuesday as a school we will be celebrating the feast of our Multi Academy patron St John Paul II and we are looking forward to joining virtually with our fellow schools to celebrate.

You should by now have received the consent forms for the Covid 19 vaccination (if your child is aged between 12 and 17). We do need every form in regardless of whether you are consenting for your child to have the vaccine or not. The vaccinations will be taking place on the 4th November and will be administered by an NHS nursing team. This is during the first week after half term.

It is half term after next week and when we return there are a number of events for you to be aware of. Our wonderful 6th form open evening is on Thursday 11th November and we look forward to welcoming all of our year 11 pupils to this event. Then the following Thursday it is our post 16 parents evening which this year will be held virtually. More details to follow. There is also an INSET day on Monday 22nd November so please be aware of this.

Please also remember that next Wednesday is a late start to school. This is so the staff can receive important safeguarding training. The school gates will not be open until 8.45 and pupils just need to ensure they are in their period 1 lessons for 9.30. There will be no tutor time on this day.

Thank you as always for your ongoing support in ensuring your children come to us well prepared and ready to learn.

Kind Regards

Mr A. Grant
