Message from the Headteacher

01 October 2021

Dear Parents/Carers

We held a beautiful Mass this morning with our year 7 pupils today and huge thanks to Father Isaac for saying Mass with us in school. It has been the first real opportunity to hold a year group Mass for some time and it was a very special occasion. Thank you also to the members of the chaplaincy team who helped out. It is always wonderful to see the children engaging and helping out during one of our services.

Last night was the year 7 information evening and thank you to Mr Griffiths, Mrs Hives and Mrs Taintey for holding this. It was extremely well attended and it was great to see so many parents there. I hope it was an informative evening for you all and Mr Griffiths will send the PowerPoint to year 7 parents via ParentMail.

Well done to all the year 7s who made the school football team and I will be watching out to see how well you are doing! Well done also to our year 11 prefects who really are outstanding role models for our younger children.

Please remember that it is a staff training day next Friday 8th October and no pupils are expected in school.

This Sunday’s Gospel says:” People were bringing little children to him, for him to touch them.

The disciples turned them away, but when Jesus saw this he was indignant and said to them,

“Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. I tell you solemnly, anyone who does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Then he put his arms round them, laid his hands on them and gave them his blessing.

This Gospel tells us that children are our future and must be nourished and cherished as such.

Kind Regards

Mr A. Grant
