Message from the Headteacher

01 April 2021

Dear Parents/Carers

This Holy Week has been a time of reflection and reconciliation. I wish you all a very Happy and Holy Easter period and I hope you are all able to reflect on this time and what this means to us as a Christian community. The Easter period is the most important time in the Catholic calendar as we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I hope you are able to attend a service over Easter but in this newsletter there are links to online services that you can attend if you aren’t able to attend in person.

As this term comes to an end, it is good to reflect on everything we have accomplished since January and I would like to thank everyone for their commitment and support in ensuring we have been able to continue to provide a quality education for your children. In particular, I would like to thank all the staff for their ongoing commitment to your children and I am sure that you recognise the efforts that have gone in. Judging by all the positive emails and words I have received over this term I know this sentiment is shared.

During the Easter holidays we will be sending out the Free School Meal vouchers as normal so do look out for these if you are entitled to them. We will also be continuing our contact tracing so if your child does test positive for Covid 19, either through their lateral flow test or through a PCR, then please do let us know by emailing Mrs Fleming directly (flemingj@stedcamp.bham.sch.uk) You should continue to take your tests over the next two weeks every Wednesday and Sunday.

We held our very first virtual parents evening on Tuesday with year 11. Thank you to all the parents who engaged with this and I hope you found it a very beneficial experience. Thanks also to the staff for their participation in what again is a new skill we have learnt over this period. It was great that we were able to have quality conversations with you especially as we move towards the awarding of centre assessed grades this summer.

We return back to school on Monday 19th April for a normal school day. If I could ask that you ensure that your child has their full school uniform and their fully stocked pencil cases ready for their return. The school’s uniform requirements can be found here on our website: https://www.stedcamp.bham.sch.uk/534/school-uniform

Once again thank you for all your support this term and I will leave you with these Easter Words:

Love overcame, Emerging from a cold tomb

All the truth, majesty and creativity of a living God

Transforming a broken heart, Making a quiet return, in a still and sorrowful garden

The grave stone rolled away, to release redemptive love Jesus resurrected and restored

Comforts a weeping woman, Speaks with travellers on a journey

Meets with his faithful friends, And they bow down before Christ alive

And acknowledged that the saviour has arrived, That the word of God has come alive

And that the extraordinary transformation of heaven and earth Is complete

Kind Regards

Mr A Grant
