About Us

St Edmund Campion School is an 11-19 Catholic school located in the north of Birmingham. We serve a very diverse community from many different backgrounds and cultures. The school is an excellent learning environment for our pupils and we have superb sports facilities (including an astro turf and sports hall), ICT suites, a state of the art Drama studio, Art studios that include clay kilns and high quality cooking and technology facilities.

Our excellent staff team are from a wide variety of cultures and faiths and are all committed to providing the very best for all of our pupils. Because we are an 11-19 school there are opportunities for staff to develop their teaching and learning at all key stages including post 16 and we have an excellent track record at A level. In 2016 St Edmund Campion secured the highest progress score for post 16 in the north of Birmingham and 2017 indications are of a similar outcome.

We take pride in our professional development programmes which are delivered in house by our teaching and learning team and incorporate the latest research into the very best pedagogical practice and research. We recognise that often the very best teaching and learning development happens within subject areas and staff are provided with the time to plan and collaborate together to share the very best teaching and learning practice. Middle leaders, key stage coordinators, lead practitioners are provided with the time to disseminate the very best practice throughout their subject areas.

Alongside our internal training opportunities, the School provides access to a series of highly successful programmes to support teachers and support staff that include:

  • Early identification of Future Middle Leaders – Accredited, bespoke NPQML, NPQSL, MLDP courses
  • Opportunities for teachers and leaders to access national initiatives such as PiXL so that they are at the forefront of educational thinking and best practice
  • Strong links with University and College partners offering PCGE placements as well as TeachFirst Placements
  • Active membership of the BEP and Titan Partnerships as well as the North Area Network and the Erdington and Sutton Consortiums

Our pupils share our passion for the school and are very proud to be ‘Campionites.’ They are keen to contribute to our positive ethos and climate around school and regularly participate in events such as debating competitions and chess tournaments as well as a wide variety of sporting events. They are also committed to our ethos of helping those in need and regularly contribute to charities through some of the many events we hold. We have a vibrant student council who regularly contribute ideas as to how to improve our school even further.

We welcome staff who share our positive vision and ethos and who are able to contribute to our culture.
