Message from the Headteacher

28 May 2021

Dear Parents/Carers

As we come to the end of another half term we say goodbye to all our year 11 and 13 pupils. We wish you all the very best for the future. Thank you for everything you have given to Campion and remember once a Campionite, always a Campionite. We look forward to the majority of year 11s returning to our Sixth Form and there is a programme of bridging work for the pupils to complete over the coming weeks.

On Monday I took two pupils to Bishop Walsh Catholic School where we were able to sample the food from three catering companies bidding for our new contract within the Multi Academy. We are very excited about this new development for September and are very much looking forward to working with our new provider. More details to follow next term!

Mr Oxley this week arranged for a decade of the Rosary to be said for Our Lady with a number of our partner primary schools. It was such a lovely event and I was very proud of our pupils who led the service.

With one half term to go before summer, it is important that we keep up the standards in school. A number of pupils need their ties updating and these can be purchased from Student Services or Reception for £5. Pencil cases can also be purchased from Student Services for £5. Please keep encouraging your children to do their very best each and every day.

As year 11 and 13 are leaving today it gives us a little more flexibility in our staggered exits. There are therefore a couple of slight changes to the end of the day for pupils which are outlined below:

Year 7 and 8 will now finish school at 3.15

Years 9 and 10 will now finish school at 3.25

Entrance and exit routes will remain the same.

This Sunday’s Gospel is that of the Baptism of the Trinity. Jesus tells his disciples:

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, make disciples of all the nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you. And know that I am with you always; yes, to the end of time.”

It is comforting to know that Jesus will always be with us by our side.

I hope you all have an enjoyable bank holiday and half term break

Kind regards

Mr A Grant
