Duke of Edinburgh Award

28 May 2021

This week in our year 10 assembly, we were really proud of the 18 year 10 students who have been working hard during the lockdown period to complete the physical, skill and volunteering sections of their bronze award. They have undertaken activities ranging from teaching and mentoring their younger siblings with their work, gardening, walking the dog for neighbours and grandparents  for the volunteering aspect. They have also taken up running, cycling and walking for their physical and mental health while also learning new skills such as playing a musical instrument, learning to cook, learning how to program, completing art and crafts projects and experimenting with make up designs.

They were presented with a Certificate of Achievement - a new award from the DofE this year - and will hopefully be able to complete their Award this summer when they undertake their training and final expeditions.

Well done! Pupils should be proud of their achievements under difficult circumstances this year. We now look forward to the remaining pupils who are undertaking the Award completing their sections in the next few weeks.
