Message from the Headteacher

07 February 2020

Dear Parents/Carers

This Sunday’s Gospel asks us to shine a light through our good deeds and to glorify God through our actions. These are values that we live by every day at Campion and I hope they are seen in our actions and our words.

Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket;
          it is set on a lampstand,
          where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others,
          that they may see your good deeds
          and glorify your heavenly Father.

Matthew 5

Year 9 parents’ evening was a great success on Thursday. It was wonderful to see so many parents having positive and honest conversations with staff. A big thank you to all those parents for attending and to all the staff involved. Please do ensure all the options forms are given in to Mrs Brodie by the end of next week (14th February).

The cast of our highly anticipated production of High School Musical have been rehearsing this week. The excitement levels are increasing and I am very much looking forward to seeing it. If you haven’t got your tickets yet do hurry! From what I’ve seen from the rehearsals it is going to be spectacular! A huge thank you must go out to all the staff involved from Drama, Music and ICT as well as Mr Reid who is overseeing the sound and vision aspects.

We have had a very successful first week as part of the St John Paul II multi academy. I met with all the Principals and Headteachers from the various schools on Thursday and some of the initiatives and plans in place are very exciting for us all.

Finally, thank you again to you as parents for your continuing support. The vast majority of pupils are certainly meeting our high expectations of them and are well equipped and in proper uniform. The vast majority are also getting their homework completed each week. Please do keep reminding your children about getting it done properly and planning when they do it so they don’t leave it all to the last minute. It is our expectation that all pupils complete their retrieval homework by every Friday and your support in this is greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Mr. A Grant
