Passion Sunday

Palm Sunday

The Processional Gospel from Luke sees Jesus send the disciples to bring him a colt.  A colt is a male horse under four years of age.  Was it this that caused the Jews to sing, “Blessings on him who comes in the name of the Lord!”

They had waited so long for the Messiah and now in unison they acclaim, “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heavens.”

This coming week we will journey with Jesus.  The sorrow of Good Friday will be replaced with the Great Exultet on Saturday night.  We are not a hopeless people but a hope filled people.  My liturgy professor often said, ‘we are an Easter People and Alleluia is our song.’

May these final days of preparation inspire us to take the message to the people; Christ has died.  Christ is risen.  Christ will come again
