Celebrating Academic Success at St Edmund Campion Sixth Form

St Edmund Campion are celebrating superb A-Level results again this year.  The Sixth Form Team and all of the staff are absolutely delighted and very proud of the tremendous achievement of their Year 13 students.  The Sixth Form secured an impressive 65 % A*-C in their A-Level examinations and 27% of A-Level entries secured were at A*, A, B.  The overall pass rate was 100% with excellent progress rates.

The Sixth Form, graded as ‘Good’ by OFSTED, continues to go from strength to strength.  As a school community we are delighted that in a year of significant changes to A Level qualifications, our students have continued to achieve high grades enabling them to access Higher Education including several prestigious universities including many Russell Group Universities and highly competitive courses such as Medicine and Midwifery.

There have been a significant number of outstanding performances.   Particular congratulations go to the following A Level students:  Warren Nana-Tchounga who achieved 3 A grades in Maths, Chemistry and Biology and is going to study Medicine at The University of Manchester; Nelly Maina who achieved A, B, B in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and is going to read Biomedical Sciences at Newcastle University; Lucy Brady who secured A*, A, B in English Literature, Spanish and History and is going to read Chinese and History at The University of Leeds; Sarah Brown-Short who achieved A*, B, B in Psychology, Sociology and Theology and will study Psychology at Aston University and Leah Conway who secured A*, B, B in English Literature, Film Studies and History will read History at The University of Huddersfield.

Our Year 13 Level 3 BTECs have again soared with 73% of grades at a Distinction or above and 57% of vocational entries securing the prestigious Distinction Star standard. Particular congratulations go to: Lauren Grady and Abigail Benbow who secured 3 Distinction Stars in Business Studies, Health and Social Care and IT and Joseph Waring who achieved 2 Distinction* and a Distinction in Sport and Leisure, IT and Business Studies.

The Sixth Form team and staff are delighted that their students’ vision, commitment and hard work has enabled them to secure impressive job offers, highly competitive apprenticeship opportunities and university success.

Headteacher Mrs Steele would like to extend her thanks and congratulations to all the students and staff on this impressive academic achievement.  As a Sixth Form we recognise the ongoing support from our parents and organisations such as ENVISION, National Citizen Service, Erdington’s St Vincent De Paul Society and all of our academic enrichment partners who have worked closely with our Sixth Form students ensuring our students received a rich and broad experience of Post 16 education.

The school wishes all students every success in realising their goals in their next chapter of learning and employment.
